My Weird But Awesome Brain

Well here we are, probably the last post in sixth grade

I drew my brain….Not the real one…Just one that shows what I think about literally 24/7. In my brain, everything is in black and white, except for one little rainbow. I have everything that I love in it. Like music, Dan and Phil (only some will know) piano, my squad, youtube, travel, Harry Potter, bands, and even my internet friends! Also, in the top right hand corner of my brain, in all black with red, is my “soul” I put it all black because people say gingers have no soul.

Lucky me, I’m a ginger.

I also put my father, drawing, and surprisingly math. In the background, I put a headphone set on my brain, with rainbow music notes around them with all my favorite lyrics.

As you can see music is very important to me.

Also, when I was drawing the deathly hollows symbol for Harry Potter, it was so small it looked like I was in theIlluminatii

Surprise surprise..I’m not.

Well, because of this, I actually had to label it with purple marker, “Harry Potter”.

On one section I have “yo?” I put this becuase I say that literally all the time through text to one of my super close friends, Sophia. Also, in another section I have all question marks because sometimes I’m literally like “w h a t ?”

I think my brain actually represents me more than I thought it would.

But for now, goodbye and see you in 7th!

I Made A Book…With Paper…Yea!

All Photos By Patti Donnelly

In Language Arts, we started making books about our hero. Some were about our teachers, moms, dads or even our peers. On our first day, we got to ‘make’ patterned paper. We used paints and washes. We decorated the paper for our books. Our books were all made of paper, seriously. We got to write a five paragraph essay about our hero with their traits and personalities. Things that made them special. We got to work with the artist, Peg Gignoux, a professional artist. After making the papers, we started folding, and folding, some cutting, and gluing, more cutting, and cutting…until we got our back scene.

After our back scene, we had to make our portal scene. That portal scene will be a literal portal into our back scene. These scenes had to do with our hero. It was super touching and awesome to see everyone’s scenes and books come together.

The awesome thing about this was that all the books were handmade, the paper, the structure, everything. Peg helped us make our books unique and special. It was so awesome and inspiring to make the books. Each one was different and each one was special.

When writing the essay, we needed information about our heroes so we did an interview. My hero, unfortunately, is dead so I interviewed my mom. My hero is my father. He was smart, witty, and strong. Living his life to the fullest.

After we made our books and wrote our stories, we had our artwork put into an art gallery. Making these books opened new doors in my brain to new ideas, techniques, and styles. Since I love art, I really do think this was the best project ever! At the gallery, we got to see everyone’s books which were awesome. There were tears, and hugs, and laughter. This unit was truly amazing.

Thanks for Reading!
